The origin of the name Mon-tri-chard refers to; Mountain, with three guards or enclosures, this is why the name is pronounced Mon-Trichard and not Mont-Richard.

Count Roland de Montrichard played a major role in mapping out the history of the de Montrichard family from as far back as the 12th century. We thank him for his efforts to keep the name forever documented.
